South Korean singer YooA (유아), known for being a member of the popular K-pop group Oh My Girl (오마이걸), visited Tossa de Mar along with her production team to carry out the filming of the music videos for “Melody” and “Lay Low”. Both songs are part of their latest album titled “Selfish”, released in 2022 and well received by the public.

The choice of Tossa de Mar as a location for the music videos was not a coincidence. This coastal town is located on the Costa Brava, in the province of Girona, in the northeast of Spain and is known for its natural beauty and rich heritage. The reason why Ava Gardner has a statue in Tossa de Mar is due to her role in the movie “Pandora and the Flying Dutchman,” directed by Albert Lewin and filmed in Tossa de Mar in 1950. Gardner starred in the film alongside James Mason, and her beauty and talent in acting made her an icon of Hollywood cinema. During her stay in Tossa de Mar, the actress fell in love with the place and its people, and spent long periods in the town in the following years. It was in 1998 when the sculptor Ció Abellí inaugurated this bronze statue, a highly photographed element by tourists.

YooA’s presence in Tossa de Mar for the filming of her music videos has been a great boost for the city and its tourism.
