Routes through "Parallel Mothers" scenarios in Madrid
Madrid is one of the cities where Pedro has filmed most of his movies, the city he arrived from his hometown Calzada de Calatrava (Castilla-La Mancha). There he ended up falling in love with cinema and becoming the great director he is. That is why his new film, Parallel Mothers, could not be set in any other place than Madrid. Plaza de las Comendadoras - Café Moderno
The square is named after the Convent of the “Comendadoras de Santiago el Mayor” and the church that covers one of its sides. However, this is not the only attraction of this space if not it is also important to highlight the tranquility that is breathed in the heart of a city like Madrid that never sleeps. A familiar place to sit and enjoy the breeze and a coffee.
It is in the square itself where the Café Moderno is located, which appears in the film, and whose popularity is due to its magnificent terrace, always sunny and located in this privileged environment. Angel Sierra Tavern
It is located in the middle of Chueca square and not only scenes for the movie Parallel Mothers have been filmed there, but it was already filmed in 1995 for the movie La Flor de Mi Secreto (The Flower of My Secret).
It is a place that has more than 100 years old decorated with tiles from La Cartuja de Sevilla and wood from Cuba. It is undoubtedly a place to visit to enjoy the most traditional Madrid.

Urso Hotel
Located between the Chamberí and Chueca neighborhoods, this hotel is a historic building in the capital, built in 1915. It was originally the headquarters of the Spanish Paper Company and was designed by the famous architect José María Mendoza Ussia and the Marquis Juan Manuel de Urquijo.
Highlights on the outside are the neoclassical facades with their towers, chamfers and bay windows, while inside the central courtyard, the stained glass windows and the decorative tiles of the library are very characteristic.

Hemingway Cocktail Bar - Casa Suecia
It is located on the first floor of the Hotel Casa Suecia and is decorated in the American style of Hemingway’s time. The reason for this theme is due to the long stays that the writer spent in this hotel, mainly getting to know Madrid and its gastronomy.

Nuestra recomendación: This bar has a wide variety of cocktails that change periodically but the main element is always rum, Hemingway’s favorite drink. The favorites are usually the Pappy Doble and the Valiente, the Spicy Amber, Cover Club or Matinesin.
